Stone Ridge is the only team Saints lost to —they outplayed and outscored SR team 15-11 for the ISL Championship. It was not a close game the second time they played SR or STAB. The Saints played SR and STAB each twice.

Good Counsel also beat SR 17-11. Saints should be at the top beating both teams whereas Good Counsel only beat SR and LOST to STAB! Do your background work before you make these lists!

Tier 1 -
1. GC
2. SSSAS
3. SR

GC gets the nod because they won all their DC area matchups again. Too bad they couldn't play SSSAS. Clear two best teams. SR in top tier though, as they created significant gaps with the rest of the group.

Tier 2

4. Visitation
5. Potomac
6. SJC

Visi was the strongest of this tier wire to wire. Potomac more consistent down the stretch even though they lost to SJC early. SJC's wins over Archbishop Spalding and Potomac, keep them here, although they stumbled against Tier 3 teams a couple of times. Bottom line, these teams would be favored against any opponent in Tier 3, and 4 goal+ underdogs against any opponent in Tier 1.

Tier 3

7. Holton-Arms
8. PVI
9. Holy Child
10. Bishop Ireton

Specific order for 7-9 is reasonable to question. Holton beat PVI and HC, and were arguably more consistent, including keeping most of their losses close. PVI might argue they should be up a tier based on their win over SJC, and Holy Child will point to a roster with a couple more D1 commits and good balance across classes, but believe this is a fair order. Open to interpretation.
. GC lost to STAB 9-8 and Saints easily dominated and beat STAB 10-5 so Saints would most likely win a game against Good Counsel! I would be listing Saints above Good Counsel any day with that record!!

You've left out NCS. Must be an oversight.

Definitely not. Would leave them out of a 27 top 10 preview post as well.

Can the success of sssas take place without KJ? Or is she the necessary sauce for this team to continue its domination

Saints won VISAA State Championship and the ISL League Championship.

The Saints were 25-1 only loss during regular season to SR by one goal and then came back to beat them at the ISL Championship final score Saints 15- SR 11. Saint dominated and SR never really had a chance that day.

They still need to beat the Saints next season to claim that spot, so until then all bets are on the Saints' new thoroughbreds to defend their double championships.

I thought SR won the ISL and beat SSSAS along the way? SSSAS then won the ISL tournament and graduated their entire team.

Stop complaining about not getting game time --that is usually who the haters are and that sentiment/negative energy is probably what is holding you back. Put in the extra effort, work hard, and improve! Your child needs to be so skilled that the coaches have no choice but to play them or they look stupid. It's a fantastic opportunity if you can earn a spot on the field - that's how all top programs operate. The most talented players will always get their chance! Instead of whining about sitting on the bench, focus on training harder, pushing yourself, and giving it your all for the next 8 months - do speed training, practice wall ball daily, lift weights, and train relentlessly! Just because you are an upperclassman doesn't mean automatic game time if someone younger is bringing the speed, the feeds, the dodges, the defense and the right attitude - which is half of it!

Yep, it’s so great there. All the 27s (minus the 2 transfers) and 28s loved riding the bench this year. They can’t wait to sit in the backseat again next year while a new crop of 30s comes in and the cycle starts again. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

SSSAS deserves credit for an outstanding 2026 season, but the outlook for 2027 is far less certain. With significant talent (i.e., the "thoroughbreds") departing, the 2027 roster will not match the strength of this year’s team, placing greater emphasis on KJ's ability to sustain the program’s standard. Given SSSAS’s history, there is reason to give KJ the benefit of the doubt. Still, the path forward appears more challenging than it has in recent years. Stone Ridge enters 2027 from the opposite direction, with a stronger returning roster but more questions surrounding coaching. How those contrasting dynamics unfold should be one of the more compelling storylines of the 2027 season.
