I am freezing!

Anonymous wrote:I was excited thinking about the minimal disruption to my day but when I thought about it, I really think this is a bad call. It’s too cold and too dark for MS kids (I don’t have one). The delay is absolute torture for elementary school parents so yeah I was excited for me. I would drive my kid in late to MS here (pp is right about Kirby).

The sidewalks and street embankments are still there. The intersection at West Moreland and Kirby is frightening under normal conditions but the snow mountains 🏔️ are even more treacherous.
Drive your child to school. Don’t put your child in a dangerous situation.
MS parent here. We are driving too and have been. Shocked there is no delay tomorrow. Reid is an absolute moron and a coward.

The MS kids would get daylight to stand and walk with a 2 hour delay.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:It's just so inconsistent with the rest of the calls that it make the whole decision-making process seem flawed: that's the biggest PR mistake here. Monday should be delayed to reflect same super cold temps, then on-time openings after.
There was never a delay for cold, just delays with the plowing of the antarctic ice shelf.
Our coldest day of the winter was yesterday, Feb 7th, when there was an Extreme Cold alert. And yet people were out and about doing their usual errands and activities. Monday is going to be a "normal" cold. Everything is plowed.
There is absolutely not reason to delay anything.
everything is plowed?
cars still can't get out of iced spots.
lanes are still missing along 50.
not every sidewalk is cleared.
there are still spots to work on.
None of the issues you’ve identified would be resolved through a 2-hour delayed opening. Are you advocating for a 3-week closure?
