That’s just too greedy. Wootton cannot lose on every single aspect. That’s too unfair

Would make so much more sense than Kingsview since they’ll ultimately end up at Poolesville HS.

Sadly it isn’t. Neither side can see the other’s viewpoint. That said, I think even the most hardcore pro-H person would agree that the recommendation process was rushed at the end. From watching the BOE’s faces during community testimonies, it was pretty clear they weren’t listening in good faith. It’s likely Option H was proposed by Dr. Taylor only after the BOE votes were in hand, and before any community input on it was sought.
It’s now up to the County Council to decide whether Option H is truly in the best interest of MoCo (and their own, of course).
No, it's not up to the council. They can make statements, but they have no role in boundary decisions.
The Council controls MCPS money, right?
Not quite. Council has the purse, but once funds are given to MCPS, there is no control - up to MCPS to allocate funds how they want. Consider it like a lump sum check.
Except when they defund projects which they have done in the past.
The boundary decision is happening in March, well before next year's budget is approved.
Doesn’t matter. If Taylor doesn’t do as he’s told by the Council, some of the things he wants won’t get funded when the budget is set.
The council approves an overall amount. It's up to Taylor how to spend it.
You know very little about politics.

MCPS has been after Wootton for a long time - and targeting Wootton is the easiest way to disperse this cluster of Asians.
If Taylor was dispersing Asians, he would have moved the new Wootton into region 5. Instead, Wootton will be with Churchill in region 4.
He may be only doing this to reduce pushback at first. One step at a time. Who knows what’s coming next
