But yes, they could babysit the kids who are behaving poorly, run scripted or small groups thought out by a lead teacher.

You need to elect different people to make this happen. People like JLG are definitely not for raising standards or tracking or holding anyone accountable.

That's insane. Janeese is the worst of all the candidates -- worse than Kenyan, worse than Bowser. She will do whatever the teachers union tells her. As we learned during the pandemic, the union does not care about your kids. Schools would still be closed for covid if Janeese was mayor.

I think it's closer to a minimum of ~$80 million considering total compensation package. And unlike school renovations, it's not a one-time capital expenditure.
Finding an extra $80 million dollars for the annual operating budget, especially in this economic climate? Have you been following what's been happening with the ECE pay equity fund?
No, it’s based on how much they currently cost which includes health, etc. But regardless yes, it would be annually but we also do multiple modernizations annually. I think one less modernization a year would be worth it.
I have been following and a solution could be to make those providers birth-2 only. Many of them compete with public schools and lose out on funds anyway. Those who prefer preschool aged children can work for dcps or a charter.
Regardless, it wouldn’t have to be let’s roll the whole thing out now, we could start with PK-1st. Just thinking of solutions because tech is not it.

+1 It sounds amazing but you're talking about doubling school budgets at a time when schools are not renewing contracts for some teachers just to hit existing budgets.
A major reason Ed Tech is popular is because it's so much cheaper than people. You get what you pay for, but they aren't going to more than double ES staffing.
So why not charge the families more? Sounds like the families who care the most about this would be willing to pay more for staffing. Whatever the amount, it would be less than paying for private school.
