Yes we know- we turned down NCS in 4th grade to go to Holton. Two fantastic schools, but we hated the buses up and down Wisconsin Ave and Woodley Road and the people roaming the Cathedral grounds could be a danger.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Holton? This girl will change the world someday.
Too bad Holton isn't part of the Big 3.![]()
Anonymous wrote:Big freaking deal. So many of the kids in these schools are there because of who their parents are.

And "Big 3" isn't a relevant category in that regard. I don't expect Sidwell, NCS/StA, GDS kids to be similar in ways that would differentiate them from kids who go to WIS, Deal, Latin, Burke, WES, etc.
My personal observation is that, for whatever reason, the kids from the schools perceived to be more "conservative" - NCS/STA/St. Patricks/NPS - tend to be more polite, polished, and better groomed, although a bit cookie-cutter.
We have visited 2 of these schools. Observation seems spot-on.
Has it not occurred to anyone that more conservative parents - who dress their kids more conservatively/traditionally and put more emphasis on old fashioned manners - choose to send their kids to conservative schools? I don't think this has anything to do with the kids

I like the bumps. It helps me, a recent DCUM convert, get caught up on all the idiocy I've missed through the years.

I think this should be DCUM-illegal. DCUM really needs a thread lock to avoid this idiocy.
