Can someone (I’m sure her consultants are ready to reply) explain to me why fac and staff have to come back to school while Penny gets to continue her vacation? She did this last year too leaving for Europe a day before spring break started.

The school cancelled all events the afternoon of Mrs. Jones’ service earlier in the fall. They had an assembly dedicated to her and offered other counseling resources. (Separately, a while back, the learning commons is named after her and the dedication was really lovely). That felt like the school really focused on to, among the rest of the things they did. And, some of the younger girls don’t know her at all because she left a while back. Please keep that in mind.
You all really hate Penny. No one is perfect but my kid (and our family) feel differently. To each their own.
Susanna died less than two months ago. She finished her 16 YEARS of service to the school in June 2023. That doesn't deserve a mention at the Thanksgiving Assembly?? Wow, I hope my predecessor at the place I dedicate my final years to isn't as insensitive and threatened as Penny.
As an alumna, when I heard the news about Mrs. Jones, I went right to Holton's social media for more info. Nothing
I went to the website. Nothing
I found it very strange there wan't a nice memorial story posted or shared anywhere. Maybe there will be something in the next issue of the alumni magazine, I can't imagine not recognizing her there.

My daughter’s school, NCS, is bashed regularly and it is by all accounts an incredible school, where smart girls are turned into very very successful scholars. This seems to make some people uncomfortable. But who cares really? Holton is also a very fine school and comparable in many ways. The skirts are, however, silly and embarrassing.
With statements like the ones above, you are just reinforcing the NCS mean girl stereotype.

The quality of language education has definitely declined in recent years. And the athletics department is a hot mess. Many wonderful teacher left at the end of last year.

Different poster. Do you have nothing more intelligent to say?

I don't work at Holton and am not a teacher, thanks. Nice deflection, though. Maybe if you keep saying that people will forget that Penny has run roughshod over a 125 year institution.

You do realize there are teaching positions available at other schools, right?
