I Botox my 11s not bc I think I can fool people about my age, but bc I was consistently fooling people into thinking I was sad or mad. Now my face reflects my actual feelings. I'm 43 and have been doing this 3x/year for the past two years.

It's me, OP. I get my make up done professionally several times a year for photo shoots or special occasions like a big concert. I'm not great at doing my own make up and it makes a huge difference in photos when it's professionally done. Told you...I really DO care about my appearance. But I've never tried botox or anything surgical to my face. Never even had anything other than a basic facial...even lasers scare me.

All the MUAs I go to offer make up application lessons so I go about once a year to get updated on the latest products, colors, and application techniques. It helps me a lot! Lessons are typically around $200 for one hour. They send me off with a list of products I go buy if I want. I work full time, I'm in front of clients all day long, and I like to look pretty for DH. So having help with make up skills and being current is important to me.

Middle eastern skin here and my aging pattern is different so I don’t think Botox is for me. No lines, 11s, crow feet. I was actually told by my dermatologist that I wasn’t a good candidate.

Not fooling myself for one sec that because I don’t “crack” I don’t look like I am 45 though.

Like the south Asian PP what is happening to me is that my face/skin is dropping instead of wrinkling and my skin texture/ pores are giving my age away. So upper blepharoplasty and lasers are what I am saving my money for.

I got it once but it gave me bad headaches for weeks. Not game to try it again. I am vain though so I'll need to find something else that works for wrinkles. I've started over the counter retinol and I should probably see a dermatologist and get my face lasers or something. Any recommendations for what actually works on wrinkles apart from Botox?
Also saving for a facelift sometime in my 50s.

I use Xeomin for my forehead. It really has improved my fine lines/wrinkles (I don't have an eleven but with one crinkly, deep vertical line above my nose). I do it twice a year. It smooths things out but I don't feel it looks fake.

early 40s, spend a lot on skincare (while realizing that a lot of it is nonsense), dont do Botox. i think small amounts of botox look great on people who are 35-45 or so. but there are eventually other signs of aging that start to catch up with you too.

I don’t and won’t use Botox. But I do care about my looks and take good care lf myself.

I look sad without it, like one of those sad eyed precious moments dolls. People ask me what’s wrong.

I used to use it but I've gone progressively more MAHA in the past 10 years. All of my cosmetics come from Credo. The one thing I'll never do is go gray though....that is a line I will never cross.
