The Goncalves family……..I’m torn because I understand they are grieving but I thought it was really classless (and quite a contrast to the other grieving families, to be honest) to include comments about prison rape in their statements. The mom ended hers with ‘You may have gotten all As in school but you’ll be getting Big Ds in jail’ or something along those lines. I mean come on…
Their daughter was stabbed and beaten, he messed up her face. They can tell BH anything they want to during their only one face to face opportunity. You are worried about classiness? Come on.
They rubbed me the wrong way when they said a plea deal may be good enough for ‘other peoples’ kids’ but not their daughter. They also seem set on constantly recounting their daughter’s injuries and pointing out that they were much worse than others.

Yeah, I didn't watch and don't plan to because it is such a contrast between the vengeful types and the true Christian turn-the-other-cheek types.
It doesn't honor their dead daughter one tiny bit to get up and publicly make such disgusting, classless statements on her behalf. But that's how they roll and why they will milk their 15 minutes of fame as much as they possibly can and why they will endlessly criticize the public servants who convicted this guy because they didn't push forward with a trial revealing all the disgusting details of how their daughter was mutilated just so they *might* get the defendant sentenced to death, even though it's been more than 20 years since Idaho executed anybody and it is unlikely that anyone on Idaho's death row is going to die by anything but natural causes.
The death penalty is abhorrent in a civilized society, especially one with such a high rate of exonerations of actually innocent people from death rows over the last half century. People who support the death penalty are not emotionally or intellectually mature people.
Please get back to us when someone stalks and kills your child while they're sleeping peacefully in their home.
Please get back to me when you've spent decades in the criminal justice system as an advocate and attorney working with defendants, victims, victims' families and handling hundreds of cases involving the most heinous depravities of which humans are capable, and having been compelled to do so by your own experience as a victim of violent, horrific crime.
Oh and, GFY. You aren't the center of the universe and I sure hope you don't go around calling yourself a Christian. Wearing a sparkly cross baseball cap.

It was so - absurd. Especially the glitter cross.

If you don't believe that, you're not really a Christian, it's just cosplay.

Unless you have had a family member stabbed and beaten like she was, you have 0 moral ground to criticize from.
