RM is below capacity under all 4 options.
Anonymous wrote:Option 4 seems crazy for Hoover. One ES to Churchill and the other five to Wooten? What’s the point of that?

Our current Cabin John and Wootton combination is not one of the 4 options!!
Stone mill here as well, we fare pretty well with these options.
Not sure which part of Stone Mill you live in, it seems like number 2 is the best option for the old neighborhood.
Yes, option 2 is the best option. Next is 4.
It may work well for you, but with so many split articulations, they are very bad options. Continuing to have their good friends in the same school is helpful for adolescents' well-being, I believe.
Option 2 is about utilization and has 30+ splits.
Option 1 is the best as it provides minimum disruptions and clean feeders
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Option 2 wants to send the Ritchie Park surrounding area to Cabin John MS and then back to Richard Montgomery while sending the Fallsgrove-area Ritchie Park kids to Frost MS and then Crown. Bizarre.
Both option 2 and 4 are so bizarre which I doubt they’re serious options
And College Gardens under some option goes to Gaithersburg Middle and then RM again. Is JW that over crowded?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Option 2 is a non starter. The MS boundaries are crazy. Too many islands.
Option 4 has the best contiguous boundaries for both MS and HS. Yes, there is split articulation, but that was going to happen no matter what.
Option 1 is by far the best, minimal split articulation
Option 1 has too many MS islands.
Anonymous wrote:Split articulation is without a doubt a terrible thing. In the present, we know it creates bullying situations. For example, at CJMS, there is a clear negative situation where Churchill-bound students bully the Wootton-bound students. Creating this for MORE high schools will only make it much worse. In addition, splitting kids apart to join a new group only to split them back off again to join another group (Option 2 does that) will significantly impact cohort cohesion. The students won't make strong bonds. After-school activities and extracurriculars will be impacted because teams will be split anyway. This is just bad

RCES has two options going to QO, one option to Crown, one option to... GAITHERSBURG!
I highly doubt they will move Lakelands to another school since it is a walk zone to QO. They usually prioritize walkers in these situations.
Agreed, options 2 and 4 make the most sense overall.
Disagree, too many split articulation. Not very good for the kids in my opinion.
MCPS should minimize split articulation
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Is it the same as the Woodward boundary study, where option #1 is all about stability, #2 about utilization, #3 about demographics, and #4 about proximity?
Pretty much
Option 1,Simplifies feeder patterns.
Option 2, Maximizes efficient use of capacity.
Option 3 , Focuses on improving demographic balance.
Option 4 ,Minimizes disruption to current assignments. But also leaves crown highly under capacity
I really think of these, option 1 is the best
