Why would a successful, well-known author who has the means to both own in London and rent in New York choose a basement apartment, if all he values in the world is quiet? Why would he choose NYC instead of a quieter locale if he Just Can’t Write With Noise?

Idiotic show.

At least five things they have done before in this episode:
* Harry has cancer but doesn’t want to tell anyone (Samantha obviously)
* Fancy European guy splits time between New York and fancy European city and thinks New York is terrible by comparison (new neighbor/Petrovsky)
* Oh no I wanted this one of a kind thing and couldn’t buy it, but hey look my significant other bought it for me! (Aidan and Carrie with the world’s ugliest table/Samantha and Smith with the ring in the movie)
* Woman goes to the bank to beg for loan she can’t possibly qualify for or service (Seema/Carrie)
* People can’t have sex because their pets are intruding (Miranda & Joy/Carrie with the horrifying phone sex like two episodes ago)
I may think of more.

The new downstairs guy storyline and Seema’s I was kicked out of my business partnership with nothing storyline are so full of holes that my brain is breaking. Is this guy Carrie’s tenant or not? If he is, how did she seemingly NOT KNOW about him? Why does he need to move to the loudest city in the world to write? Why does he need to write in the middle of the night? How does Seema not have a giant wad of cash if her business partner just sold their business to someone who would need to buy her out? How does she not have a giant wad of cash just from selling NYC real estate, and having agents under her doing same, for two decades? GAAAAAAAAH

Oh wow, I’m sooooo impressssssed that you even wear heels around your fancy apartment! I am in awe of the fact that you can’t imagine not wearing heels; you don’t even know how to walk without them! WOW, at the end of the episode when you did take off your heels, you stood on the balls of your feet like a Barbie because THAT is how superior of a heel-wearing 50something you are!

I don’t mind the wealthy angle bc it is very true of a segment of nyc population and also presented as annoying and clueless. Same with the insufferable kids, especially the dd who thinks a boyfriend cheating on her is something she should be ok with because of his label. It’s satire.

Yeah, the show presented it like boom, 6 months, and she’s recovered. Plus the Aidan relationship is terrible. Should have just jumped in the sack for old time’s sake then said a fond farewell. Her cosplaying farm life does not track.

Didn’t they kill big off pretty early on in the reboot in 2022? I mean it’s been three years. I get that if you are a widow, you would still be sad, but I’m not sure her moping around about losing her husband three years ago would make for a great plot.

I liked this episode! Yes, Carrie and Miranda are clueless, bad hostess and guest, but many people are like that. I liked that it was all in the open and they communicated about it. I felt terrible for Charlotte keeping this big secret. Cannot stand her kids who are just awful.

Agree Carrie, who has always leaned insufferable, is maxing out in that area. Rich lady couldn't order some groceries once she knows a guest is coming?

Even though the pretext was stupid, did enjoy the banter with the new guy. Felt a little more like the old show. Certainly preferable to Aidan, even if she's too much of a selfish twit to attract a guy like that.

One nice detail: SATC music playing during the Samantha texting scene. Though even that was badly written.

I can’t STAND rich Carrie. She is ridiculously pampered, lazy, and self-absorbed. She used to have a modicum of self-awareness and an authentic connection with NYC beyond the Gramercy Park lady of leisure lifestyle. Just blech.

No way Miranda wouldn’t immediately have stocked some groceries etc. as a houseguest.

Such petty nonsense problems. None of the writing rings true these days. Seema has nothing to do but look rich and glamorous. I do like Charlotte’s and Lisa’s genuine friendship, but again, who cares about the problems of the 1%?

I was never an Aidan fan, but in Season 3 I am really disliking him. He seems narcissistic and I really do not like his approach to dealing with Wyatt. Wyatt didn’t become this way overnight and Aidan has his head in the sand with regard to his son’s issues. At least Kathy is trying.

The casting in this was so good. Wyatt looked like a fetal alcohol baby or like theres something deeply wrong with him. Agree likely beyond ADHD but I guess ADHD kids do get dysregulated more frequently emotionally.

Slight tangent re the sister wives store and the dress Carrie wore at the family dinner. Kathy? (Aidans X) seemed to immediately recognize the dress Carrie was wearing. First thing that popped in my head was - was that her wedding dress? In any event why say that and then nothing more? Or was it just a "haha - Ms NY Fashion Queen had to go shop there" moment.

(And yes, I'm overly hate-watching this thing, but I'm stuck inside and hate watching a lot of trash tv.)
