Also new teachers don't have protection against things like unruly violent students who are passed along to high school and dont know how to read. New teachers risk being blamed for everything from being poor managers to not being good enough to teach their students to read...even though they should have know how to read before they got to the new teachers high school class. The admin sure know how to frame it so it looks like the new teachers are the bad ones.

AP Calc is not an easy class to teach. My father who teaches math in college always tell me how much of a struggle it is for new teachers. They can definitely teach, but to teach it well is another story.
Most new teachers are not at their best their first year of teaching. It’s a tale as old as time

Better than rotating subs as placeholders and packets for instruction. If this is someone in a training program at least they are motivated to do a good job and will be getting support.

What on this chain is not true? It is true that more teachers than usual have left Wootton. It is true that 6 out of 8 counselors have transferred to other MCPS schools.
Are those voluntary transfers or involuntary?
There were 6 counselors, out of 8 in the department, that voluntarily transferred from Wootton to other MCPS schools. No counselors were involuntarily transferred or retired.

Huh? Where are you getting 7 from? 35+ staff voluntarily left to get jobs at different schools because of the climate in the building. A couple retired and a couple were involuntarily transferred/ position cut.
