I don’t really understand. But people are saying that the federal courts would/might also be shut down? If that is accurate, there would be no mechanism to stop Trump and Musk. But the judiciary is a different branch of course.

Optimally, we could just not fund the White House and shut it down. Send Trump to MAL indefinitely and strap Musk to one of his rockets.

I’m very angry with Schumer. But this was a very abrupt turnaround so I can only guess new information accounts for it. I hope his assessment is correct.

Umm we all know and understand it’s two bad choices are we’re telling you which bad choice to select. Vote NO and if a shutdown occurs then so be it. Heck ya’ll should already have plans underway for next steps if a shutdown occurs.

Once this passes the Republican can push through party line votes and the dems will not be able to do anything.

Now as for the other arguments that government shutdown are bad, Trump will fire all the nonessential employees, etc. That is just stupid.

Let’s play that out. So the American people will complain about not getting services because of the shutdown and demand the government be reopened. Trump will step up and say I hear the American people demanding the government be reopened but I am firing all these nonessential government workers.
