Don't let the 'liberal' mindset fool you.
Culturally, it's very xenophobic even if you speak the local language. People are racist and closed-minded here, especially towards foreigners. Integration is hard.
Yes, some places are safer, but a lot of these countries have real issues too.

South America. Costa Rica. Parts of Asia.

This. I am from Europe, my parents and siblings live there. USA is still the best place to live and work. Europe is not the same what it used to be 20+ years ago. There are no jobs in Europe, people are not as open as people in USA, it's a different vibe over there. Europe is great for vacation, but working there is a different story.

Ok, best of luck with that.

So Europe, Australia and NZ dominate quality of life rankings yet again.
Lot of this is very subjective though.

Grandparent citizenship is not a thing, so you might want to double check.
I also think your framing is quite naive. Do you think letting the jerks win by personally leaving, even for a period of years so as not to live under oppression, is the worst thing that can happen? If you’ve lived in an authoritarian state where the only medicine you can get is imported from doctors in other countries and elections are ceremonial and you can’t count on the police or the government for anything and there is no opposition party then you’ll understand that sometimes the jerks win regardless of whether you stay or go. And there are much worse things than leaving.
I give it a couple of months before Patel and Bondi start tossing opponents in prison. All of the grandstanding about fighting tyranny and for your country, when the truth is, we might have already lost. Look up what happens to people who oppose the government in China and Russia, it’s not pretty.

+1 most Americans do not qualify for another citizenship or have a high level skill that makes it easy to leave.
Where are the skilled workers going to go willingly? They have to accept a steep salary cut.
I think the OB/GYNs for one would be happy to trade a lower salary for the right to practice evidence-based medicine on a healthier maternal population without fear of being imprisoned. Plus no obscene medmal bills.
And pretty much every civilized country would be happy to have them.
Obstetricians are not used that much in Europe. Many women use midwives I had a midwife birth in the UK and it was the best and safest of my three deliveries.
This is BS. There might be some crunchy people there too (particularly in the UK) but everyone else goes to the hospital. I am from Europe and my entire extended family is there and all the friends i made before moving here at 30yr old. Not one person i know gave birth outside of a hospital. I have one friend who had the first kid in a warm pool (but still inside a hospital and with sn obgyn) and another did three vaginal births refusing pain medications, also in hospital with obgyn. I dont know anybody even acquaintances who just used midwives so it is certainly not widespread

I love these people telling us to leave and then slip in ‘yes, we are dual citizens in the UK’ or some BS. Not the reality for most people.
First I think the Hitler comparison throws people off because he is the most well known and most extreme of authoritarians, but there are plenty of other examples of authoritarians that run on the same pattern.
Second, people without options are going to have to wait it out and go as a refugee if it gets that bad. We are more likely going to be living like Russia rather than nazi germany, but that’s not very good either.
