How would be at a safety if they didn’t get in anywhere?
My 1580 SAT, 4.6 GPA was completely shut out last year. Spent about six months on the couch smoking weed and playing video games. He gained about 40 pounds. I finally told him to get a job so he works at the Taco Bell. This year he got into JMU but he only wants to take a couple of classes at the community college so he has more time for weed, video games and Taco Bell. He says he doesn’t know why we made him work so hard in high school and prefers his new lifestyle.
How could you just let that happen?

BTW, CS and Design combined major. DC is intelligent and artistic.
The school was a great fit, and Northeastern excels at selecting students who are a good fit, resulting in a high retention rate.
Ummm.
Northeastern chases SAT scores like it's crack.
It's not looking for fit, it's trying to elevate its prestige through higher average SAT scores.
It is a good safety school for a well statted out kid.
Only about a third of Northeastern admits submit an SAT score.
Another 1/9th submitted an ACT score.
The upside is that you are going to be going to school with other driven talented students that lost the admissions lottery.

Extremely surprised at Northeastern. Did you submit a 1400 or something? They hate submitters that are below median.
