Can we mostly agree that it appears the ridiculous rec argument has been soundly disproven due to the fact that a team like Whitman has only top club players participating.
I think people don’t realize what rec level is lol. That’s for a guy named Jimmy who used to play MSI when he was younger and who wants to try out for his local high school team. That’s rec level
You appear to be the only one that doesn't realize what rec level is.
How many people need to tell you that you're wrong before you listen to them?
If you watch a Whitman v Churchill game and think it looks like rec, I'd love to see the rec teams you're talking about!
It doesn't matter what HIgh School you refer to it's all High School soccer and nobody cares. Get it through your thick skull.
Your kid is not special. If they were they'd be playing on a high level club or academy team.

Gonzaga is number 1 in the area right? For sure D1 scouts are there.
So what you're saying is that recruiters only care about MLSN or ECNL.
You even said it yourself. So stubborn and dumb.
No D1 coach is traveling to watch Gonzaga or any "Number 1" team in the area. As coaches have expressed to me and I'm sure is well known, you can't gauge the level of a player who is playing against other HS team. They need to watch players play against other ECNL or MLS Next level kids. It makes sense! That's why college coaches focus on showcases and BIG tournaments so they can sit and watch top kids play against top kids over and over. Now who knows, there may be a local D1 coach that has something going on nearby and may pop in for a "big HS game", but I bet that is rare! With that said...I love HS soccer and every kid I know loves HS soccer and, for the record, I don't know of one kid that has made a local HS roster or at least has gotten any playing time and plays rec soccer. They are mostly ECNL, ECNL-R, EDP-D1 or D2, and NCSL D1 kids at the very least. You have to be a year round soccer player to make any HS team that I know of.
What about low end D3 schools? I know it’s bottom of the barrel but just asking for a friend.

The point is that plenty of those kids are actually doing both lol
First poster is just bitter than their oh so talented off spring got cut from a high school team. On the good high school teams, nearly everyone is a club player and some club players get cut. At the high school my son attends, soccer is the hardest team to make (most cuts).
Also, this thread is not about whether kids are getting recruited based on high school play. It’s about what level of player is playing high school varsity, and in some high school leagues, there are definitely top level kids playing high school soccer.

D1 cares about MLS N and ECNL club players and they will go to ATTEND a high school game featuring those players and watch them.

Genuine question...is anyone actually scouted through high school soccer? Are there even talented players only doing high school soccer and not club as well?
Teh most talented kids do not play HS - they dont want to get hurt by some field hockey kid from another team trying outside back for the first time.
