Yeah, pretty true. The elites are great at distracting us to think the other party is the enemy so we don't look around and wonder why they have all the money and power, while us peons struggle amongst themselves fighting for housing and a few weeks of vacation each year. Tale as old as time. I'm one of the wealthier and luckier peons, and they are better off if I'm distracted, fighting to keep my place there.

The rise of the Tea Party is a big part of what alienated me from the GOP. And then it only got worse with Trump. I had been a registered Republican for 25 years.

Fun fact: Trump switched party affiliations five times and finally settled on Repubican in 2012.
