Not the PP but no, I wouldn’t. The kid will be fine to miss one camping trip. He can go another time or when he’s older. Camping is horrible

This is the reason I didn't put my son in scouting, I knew DH wouldn't go camping and it would all fall on me and become a source of friction. He is an eagle scout himself and otherwise a good dad.

I’m pregnant and there is no way my DH would let me go on a camping trip with cub scouts. But I also wouldn’t sign my kid up for scouts if I weren’t willing to do all the activities. In our family, DH and I choose activities to support and they are “ours” entirely. I wanted our children to learn a heritage language, a math program, ballet and swimming, so guess who takes them? My DH wanted our children to learn jiu jitsu and play football, guess who coordinates, pays and drives them? I don’t think it’s fair to sign up a child for an activity and then require the other parent to supervise and take over.

So just skip the trip? There will be more in the future. Also this is why I never did these activites. We sent them to sleep away camps.

Op I get it- my dh puts his needs above everyone else's. Marriage counseling was a flop. He was an equal partner until we had kids and thrn developed mental health and medical issues. I walked out on him tonight and told him to get the kids to bed since I was going to the gym. I was tired of his ass hiding away in the house doomscrolling on his phone and then denying that he was doing that. I actually don't know that many marriages where the men fully step up, but some examples are much more aggregious than others. I allow myself to get mildly irritated and then I push on- u try not to let his bs ruin my happiness but some days are harder then orgers
