MoCo school system was among the very best in the USA in the 80s and 90s.

Clearly MCPS is not preparing our kids for college.
And conversely, kids need to come to school, prepared to learn. Is that the case in our schools? All our schools? More funding will not fix interest in learning, attitude, and values.
The BOE needs more funding for pet projects, not education. They need to get back to basics, partner with parents, and hold students accountable. Bring back textbooks, books, and more.
Parents no
Have you been to a BOE meeting. Parents are horrible and stupid book banning idiots
The worst thing about about MCPS is how they act t like the most strident parents represent all parents and instead of recognizing most parents are reasonable and aren't at BOE meetings they focus their energies on placating the crazy angry parents.
Like those ones who appear every few weeks and say that teens end up rain damaged from having to go to school so early? Or the ones who want to ban books? Or bring back the virtual academy?
I'm with you - most are not crazy, but that's all they get to hear

I am thrilled that my kid’s school has banned phones from morning bell to dismissal. Best news I’ve heard in a long time.
What grade level is your kid's school?
It’s a K-8. I do realize high school is a lot more complicated when it comes to dealing with phones.
So private school as there are no K-8’s in MCPS.
