It's hard to stifle the schadenfreude- I am repulsed by people who brag and post like she did- but at the same time, I do believe that she was kept in the dark about the degree of financial trouble they were in. Not only does she have to manage her family's grief, but to be dragged through the mud and now sued? Ooof. That is not to say that she should not be accountable - she should. And her behavior and need to impress surely drove much of this. But man, this is a really sad situation.
She seems to be getting what she deserved. Spending and flaunting their “wealth” like she did - it’s disgusting.

I wondered why she’d close her IG if she needed $$, but the NYT article said it didn’t make $$.
Had no idea who these people are.

Anonymous wrote:Thanks, but I haven't been in touch with the family since Mike died, and that was the only contact in 15 years. I'm not concerned for me, but am still disgusted. Brandon took his own life and people seem to be enjoying sensationalizing this and the grieving family's plight.

Brandon had long been very focused on money and some business decisions interfered with long term friendships. There is no love lost among his friends for Candice.
I highly doubt the New York Times would write a piece about a second generation real estate manager. I understand internet publications like The Daily Mail and The Real Deal but this story does not feel like the right fit for the Nee York Times.
The NYTimes covers scandals all the time.
Here's the article. Hamptons are part of the NY region, so there's a focus on their life there too. It's a sad story.
