Don’t know about that. I’m an independent. The debate was a debacle for both parties. It was just that Biden’s performance was more of a surprise. He was fine at the SOTU.
But from my perspective, the Democratic Party’s response to Biden’s performance has given me a measure of cautious optimism. It’s not easy to admit to a mistake and try to rectify it. That’s an admirable quality in leadership.
We’ll see how things develop, but the GOP is bringing nothing new to the table. Trump is a whiny, aggrieved loser with plans that will crater our economy.
Biden is fine with a teleprompter. Although he tends to read everything including the stage directions.
PP here. That may be so. But I have happily not paid much attention to politics since Biden was sworn in.
Trump is too exhausting and dangerous, but the Democratic Party has a tendency to be a bit high-handed. If the Democratic Party responds to voters’ concerns, that would be persuasive to an independent like me. But not all independents are alike, obviously.

The reality is, Trump as an authoritarian can legally just take your family's assets and then you will be living in a cardboard box. "but he is old" will be the same mantra as "but her emails" except this time the stakes are higher. I don't think you grasp what living in an authoritarian country is like, but the way you are weighing these candidates simply proves it.
If Trump can do it, then Biden can do it, and if it comes to that, I see Biden as the more likely evil.
I think that Trump is a very fair representation of the standard of the Democrats. The Democrats job is to either show that they're better than that, or to fix that, and so far they haven't shown themselves to be competent at doing either.
