And everyone in Herndon gets cheaper houses because they have a subpar school. That’s also what they signed up for. Not sure why you feel that those other citizens owe you anything.
They don't get cheaper taxes.
I always find it humorous when you make this argument. You know how percentages work, right?
DP. The rates are the same. If you buy more house/property, you shell out more by choice. If you feel overtaxed because the total you pay is too much, buy a smaller house/property. Paying a larger total in taxes doesn’t give you more voting power than anyone else.
It’s disingenuous to say they don’t get cheaper taxes, because, as you admit, they actually do get cheaper taxes.
Nowhere in my post did I say anything about more voting power or complain about my own tax situation. Your post barely touched on what I actually said, and instead you just go on this weird tangent.
It is disingenuous to disregard that everyone pays the same rate. If tax RATES were different per unit area, then you could argue that some people pay more or less.
But maybe you are arguing you are paying more in taxes per square foot than other parts of the county?
I grow weary of your contrived arguments, and still find it humorous when people try to argue that they pay just as much as everyone else because “RATES SAME”.

You all act like a retake is a sure thing for an A. Between AP exams, finals and everything else that goes on in May and June, how many kids do you know would want to revisit tests from the fall?

Will HH continue SBG with unlimited retakes next year or what has principal said grading plan will be next year? Thx,
Herndon parent again: It all comes down to Reid and Tyson - both are well aware of what is going on. They need to step up and take charge. Otherwise it will continue as is. Noto made it crystal clear she is not a good leader so it’s on Reid/Tyson to take action now.
So most likely then more SBG with retakes and increased grades from retakes will show Reid “all is well” and more good teachers will leave. So unless bigger drop in SOLs, more of same.
It’s funny you focus on retakes. You clearly are not listening. You think offering retakes result in better grades.Truly clueless.
DP without SBG and only reading here but thought point of retakes was to give chance for kids to increase grades and that was one result from PTA letters. What is point of retakes if not that? Why introduce it then and why letters to college admissions offices?

Is Herndon going to send out letters explaining weird grading to colleges?

I have no doubt that SBG is an absolute disaster and is a contributing factor to the problems at those schools. But it is a bit dismissive of a lot of other issues at Herndon to insinuate that that is the primary problem.

*the moderators tends to delete the newer threads discussing gang activity. And some LWNJs will accuse you of being racist if you state that you don’t want your kids to go to school with gang members. It’s really bizarre.
I have read those threads. And I am a HHS parent and I can tell that you do not know the reality of the situation at that school. Look at how well non-FARMS kids do and how many AP/DE classes are offered despite the challenges some students there face. Get off Fox News and take a better look.
Though of course you’ll accuse me of lying, I can assure you that I am a moderate democrat who gets his news from the Washington Post. I truly wish for the best outcomes at Herndon high, and you may be right that the school is actually just fine and not deserving of its reputation as an under performing school.
To which I respond with a question- then why is there such a push for the Forestville-will-be-our-savior redistricting?
DP. It’s not the Herndon parents making that push - it’s someone from McLean. She is obsessed with other people’s kids.
