U12 is the last year for LS allstar teams. They expect the kids with any real talent to move to travel by that age. Maybe more clubs are moving to this model for allstar tournaments.

That's nonsense: both Herndon and FPYC tournaments have 100+ u13 and up teams. Most of the all star players at that age are low-income kids who love the game but can't afford club (or great athletes who play soccer not as one of their main sports). Alexandria has a well-run fall tournament specifically for older players. Its only the Valor tournament that can't seem to get their act together for the 11v11 ages.

Programs for rec kids can exist independent of the world of travel soccer.

No one "thinks" they had issues last year. They had massive issues as was evident from their pathetic schedule with no teams u13 and up, lopsided game scores, travel teams, tons of parent complaints, etc.

It is a massive event, for sure, but we liked the Valor one last year. Partly it's closer for us to start with but also, the fields are not as spread out and we could get to both kids' games. To each his own but I had no problem with the event last year and am not upset that we are returning this year. It was a brand new tournament last year, if you thought they had issues maybe you'll see that they corrected them this year. Who knows? Paste a smile on your face and let your kid play the game. That's what it is all about in the end anyway.

You’re honestly trying to say that the Valor tournament is good and the 40 year old FPYC is not?

You’re a troll! Get lost.
