Agree. And it’s so much easier for families to be able to plan and make contingencies with notice the night before instead of morning of. There was no reason to wait until 7 am when temps were going to be below freezing all night.

Truly awful. Our head put in email to parents that not ALL members of the community could make it. That’s the way it should be done.

Our child attends one of the other schools listed and same, it started with two hour delay, and they promised a decision by 7:30 and let us know by 635. While I was initially annoyed last night that they didn’t just send out an email cancelling after DCPS/OPM, I realize if they did, they set a precedent parents will demand every time and that won’t always make sense in the situation. Next time will know they aren’t going to be sending a note out at 11 PM when they promised 7:30 AM. Yes, it would’ve been nice to know last night so we were not up early checking, but taking a step back, I can understand.
