The Oscar winner, 77, has attended several rallies in New York where she joined in the chant 'from the river to the sea,' a battle cry used by pro-Palestinian activists and Hamas alike that many view as an anti-Semitic call for the destruction of Israel.
In further shocking new remarks, Sarandon said at a recent rally: 'There are a lot of people afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country.'
She joined the crowd in chanting “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” – which is largely regarded as an antisemitic slogan that implies the decimation of Israel – before addressing the group herself.
The group also denounced Mayor Eric Adams, Gov. Kathy Hochul, and demanded that President “Genocide Joe” Biden “has got to go” for several minutes.

Very upsetting language.
I don't give a sh--- what Susan Sarandon or any other celeb says. Or their views on anyting.
Next . . .
Same person: Did you see where the Screen Actor’s Guild has released a statement that they will officially ban anyone who expresses any concern or criticism over what’s happening in Gaza from membership in the guild Now, that - that’s leadership and we need more of that.
McCarthyism. Blindly support Israel or else! I never thought we'd live under these crazy witch hunts in 2023.

So Melissa Barrera was fired from the Scream franchise for:
“Spyglass’ stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech,” a Spyglass spokesperson tells Variety.
Do you think her posts qualify as hate speech or antisemitism?
I do not. It can certainly be argued that Israel's actions meet the definition of genocide and ethnic cleansing, although you may disagree with that opinion.
These terms are being weaponized, cruelly, against Jews who were the subjects of ethnic cleansing and genocide - the systematic eradication of 5 million of them in WWII and prior (ethnic cleansing and systematic killing of Jews goes way back, unfortunately). I’m grateful that people are being called out for this.
Jews were not the only people in which ethic cleansing and genocide has been committed against. Unfortunately, the Jewish people do not have an exclusive use of that word. What happened to Jews during WWII was horrific, but the European Roma people also experienced genocide during WW2, yet people rarely mention them.
Jews were the overwhelming number of victims of the Holocaust. It doesn’t negate the deaths of gays, Roma people, and others who were murdered. But to pretend that Jews were not the primary targets to the tune of 5 million people, isn’t factual.
But there’s a real desire to neutralize the Holocaust in order to justify antisemitism and anti- Israeli sentiment.
It's 2023- why should Israeli policy be linked the the Holocaust?
Because Holocaust denial fuels antisemites. Any other questions?

It’s 2023, why should US policy be linked to slavery?[/b]
Because it happened within our borders. Why should the US treat a middle eastern government favorable based on an event 75 years ago?
Because the US government actively ignored evidence of Germany's attempted genocide.

More Russians died in ww2 than Jews
5 million Jews were systematically murdered through a comprehensive program explicitly intended to eradicate them from the earth. But sure, deflect from this and try and normalize it as NBD.

What did she post?
Some have had enough. Spyglass quietly dropped Melissa Barrera as the star of the next “Scream” film, sources say, due to her social media posts that referred to Israel as a “colonized” land and floated an antisemitic trope that Jews control the media, writing: “Western media only shows the [Israeli] side. Why do they do that, I will let you deduce for yourself.” Barrera did not respond to a request for comment.
Do Jews control the media? Is that an accurate statement or just garden variety antisemitism?
She didn’t say Jews control the media. She said western media only shows one side. That is her opinion, but not antisemitism.
She might as well have said it. Being coy doesn't mean you aren't antisemitic. And the Western media has shown the Palestinian side.

Ah. Congratulations on "punching up" against those big, bad Jews who are undoubtedly coming to get you if you don't get them first. You'll show them what it's like to be a persecutedminority, because otherwise how would they ever know? You and Susan Sarandon... such big machers in the history business you are...

There was also the 6 year old who was killed. Maybe Susan has a point?
What about the rabbi in Detroit?

Yes let us all celebrate! Only Israelis lives matter in the world.

Nobody serious is for annihilating any group of people. But what worries me is that too many people who support the actions of the State of Israel have bought into the fiction that one group is intrinsically better than the other.
If not for outspoken Jews outside of Israel, plenty of "serious" people would be willing to stand aside and do nothing while Israel ceases to exist while giving empty platitudes about what a shame it is.
Israel should only exist as a secular state with a constitution and a bill of rights for all. Israel has proven it is unworkable as a “Jewish”.
Israel can become secular when all the muslim states become secular. Them first.
Very civilized. Well, at least you admit the State of Israel isn’t a secular state, nor a democracy. Thank goodness that charade is over.
Is Us secular? No, it’s Christian. Remember in God we trust? Presidents always talking about their Christian faith. Public policy and health issue dictated by Christian right. Let’s not be blind here.
