It’s ridiculous that people in the area couldn’t secure their weapons though. Good lord.
Immediate fine for any gun that is not secured. Charges if their unsecured gun is stolen and used in a crime.
I'd argue that a gun, particularly a hunting rifle, that's in a locked house/garage is secured.
Why are you making it about this homeowner and not the criminal that robbed them?!

He has zero incentive to do that.
This. Not to mention he’s got a riffle. People who do school shootings don’t use riffles. Think people. Think.
This has to be the most ignorant, inane, clueless and factually incorrect post I’ve ever seen on DCUM; and I’ve seen some doozies.

Also, he definitely looks white. I know plenty of Mayflower descendants with curly hair
I do not know why I care but as a Brazilian, I can't keep reading this over and over in this thread and not say something. He did not survive the Brazilian rainforest. The area of Brazil he was living in is more akin to the Australian outback than a rainforest.
The NYTimes had a whole article about it this weekend. As they described it, "The dusty, wild Brazilian savanna provided the perfect cover for Mr. Cavalcante. Here, cattle ranches stretch for miles, flanked by shrubs and parched forest."

Before I read about it or scrutinized, I actually thought from the prison video that he was black. Then I saw he is Brazilian. Clean shaven and with a hoodie, he could pass for white.
There is nothing about his crab walking video that looked Black. You likely assumed he was Black. Really.
Yeah, again I need PP to explain how she thought he was black. Even with his curly hair out, he’s not black or AA presenting whatsoever. I’m an AA fwiw.
Not PP. but he is very clearly BIPOC. Which means he is in great danger from the police just executing him, and getting away with it.
Maybe they will shoot him because he’s a 2 time murderer, prison escapee with a gun, not because he’s BLPOC.
Everyone makes mistakes, right? That doesn’t justify getting the death penalty from racist cops.
Escaping from prison doesn't exactly imply that he has learned from any of his mistakes.
Murdering two people isn't "a mistake."
“Allegedly” murdered.
Innocent until proven guilty.
And why are you so willing to vilify the guy? It’s because he’s BIPOC, isn’t it, you stupid MAGA.
He was convicted of the second one. Its not "alleged" any longer. And his motive for killing the second person was that she threatened to turn him in for the first murder.
All that said, I agree if he was planning to kill someone else he easily could have by now.

The idiots are the civilians who are leaving cars with keys in them, and guns in plain sight, overnight in an unlocked garage, next to their ammunition!!!!
Do you know how much harder and more dangerous that makes LE’s job? He can easily highjack a car now, and go anywhere. The homeowner from last night should be charged for his reckless behavior.
Posters on here are making him sound like some hero!
