Additionally, this data should have been thoroughly cleaned and presented in a much more user-friendly way before release.

Thanks for chatting with us! If I may offer some feedback, I think it would be helpful to contextualize this data with whether the change is statistically significant. Many parents don't quite get how small the PARCC testing population is at a lot of schools EOTP and it's easy to read the data and draw mistaken conclusions.

A lot of them are in summer school already, yes.
I don't know why you think you're making some original point here. Everyone knows it's terrible. The city is investing more and more funding. Do you have some special solution that nobody has thought of.

Now, this is a dumb list, and definitely not how to present or analyze data.
I'm really grateful for the posters that take the time to sort through the data, so PP, can you please tap into your ELA skills and find a better word than "dumb".
I'm in Brookland and thought it was interesting to see how the scores for DCB, Lee Montessori, ITDS, Burroughs, and Stokes were all so close.
Careful with ITDS-- it includes middle school so if you want to do an apples to apples comparison, use just elementary.

I'm pleased that the data is released in a way that allows for better school/school comparisons across elementary grades and middle school grades - it's really helpful to be able to see the elementary and middle school breakout for the PK-8 campuses.

OSSE released results to the schools, and our school released results to teachers and families. There may be a problem at your particular school.

These are proficiency scores. The term average was used to describe averaging of proficiency scores between grade levels. You are correct, the term proficiency should have been used.

You can further narrow down the comparison by looking at high schools against other high schools, charters against other charters, elementary against elementary and analyze factors like grades, demographic data, and specialty schools. We know that not all schools and zip codes are directly comparable, but this data offers a high-level view of the top scores in DC. Feel free to break it down further.
