Because he probably had tons of other women on the side the whole time. And money and connections plus side ladies was bearable but when that changed it was not. I feel for this woman but she was oblivious and only found out because she was contacted by the OW’s husband.

Agree that the dude's behavior is consistent with NPD.

However, I want to note that you hardly need a custody schedule with teenagers. Best to let them go on with their lives as usual and not shuffle back and forth. He may be seeing them about as often as before by their own mutual agreement. She makes it sound like the kids were abandoned, but I think there's a good chance he sees them enough without any custody schedule. That's likely what his texts are about (she says she receives neutral texts from him). She describes him as kind toward the children.

Sorry but this story is basic. Needs way more *unexpected* drama/twists/turns to be compelling and way more intense, warped WASPiness than blueberry bushes, Harvard and cellos.

My experience with my socialite ex-husband was similar- the traits that had attracted me to him ended up being my downfall.

It just goes to show that even with all the $$$ in the world, sh*t happens. I think it's awful when someone feels so entitled and privileged - as if those self inflated traits justify leaving the way he did.
