This is a fun question

#1 for me is the view of Machu Picchu from the Sun gate on the final moments of the Inca trail
#2 is lake konigsee in Germany
#3 is multiple views from docks in Maine

The area is super polluted and there are beggars everywhere there.

Beggars everywhere doesn't make the place itself any less beautiful nor does the pollution. Sorry.

As much as I have seen the Taj Mahal in books - standing in front of it in reality is indescribable. It is STUNNING.

The coastline of the French Riviera looks JUST like the movies and pictures, and is the beautiful stuff that dreams are made of. Just gorgeous, wish I could live there already.

Emerald Lake, British Colombia
Faroe Islands

Grand Tetons
Hong Kong (maybe not for the same reasons as some of the others)
Patagonia
Ischia

With this said, I haven't been many places in Africa and the only places I've been in Asia are Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong. Perhaps why my list is Europe heavy.

+100 on the bolded. Aside from the natural beauty of Hong Kong Park, the view of the skyscrapers overlooking the harbor from Victoria Peak is just so beautiful and recognizable in its own right.

Agree, it is breathtaking.

- Maya Beach in Thailand (and I am not usually a beach person)
- Cinque Terre
- The night sky and stars at Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP in Colorado

A local favorite, IMO one the prettiest in the DC area, is the view of the Georgetown campus as seen from this little opening in the trees from the GW Parkway near the Key Bridge. It always takes my breath away (but I went there, so may be biased).

The first time I visited Kauai (20+ years ago) it was spring, and I had never seen so much greenery in my life. Everything was such a rich, bright GREEN. Add the occasional waterfall you'd see from the road and it was breathtaking.

For more of a traveler experience, Queenstown in New Zealand was amazing. I'd never been somewhere on a lake with snowy mountains on the other side of the lake. Plus the town itself was pretty cool.

My most "normal" experience was probably driving on the NY Thruway last October at peak leaf changing time. I grew up in that general area and I don't remember noticing leaves as a kid. Both sides of the highway were lined with red, orange, and yellow trees...it was really beautiful. It made a stressful drive a bit more peaceful.
