It’s worse now than it’s ever been before here.

It is a form of propaganda, and something needs to be done about it. Creating an alternate reality where peoples' home or person could at any moment be attacked and where guns are needed personal protection is very dangerous and leads to situations such as these.

And just because he's home recovering, doesn't mean that he doesn't have significant injuries which may require lengthy rehabilitation, possible lifetime pain and keep him from playing his instrument. There's a ton of real estate between critical condition and just fine.
Was he ever actually in critical condition? I read that he got up and walked to several houses seeking help after getting shot. I suspect the bullets clipped him only. Which is a relief.
Yes, the media noted he was initially in critical condition. Here is just one source that says that.

He apparently collapsed in front of the house across the street where we went seeking help, according to the resident there who called 911. I imagine adrenaline kept him moving for a bit.

Flooding a country with so many guns creates this kind of chaos, paranoia, and terror that inevitably leads to a power vacuum to be filled by the worst types of individuals and groups.
Yes 100%. Guns change how people react to situations. The police just shot and killed an innocent man when they knocked on the wrong door. In that case, the man did have a gun. But just the possibility and likelihood that someone has a gun causes people to overreact. People are rightfully worried that anyone could have a gun, so they will react out of proportion to situations and opt for violence. How many people were killed because the cops “thought they had a gun” but in fact they didn’t? If people didn’t have access to guns, things wouldn’t escalate so fast. For police and for regular citizens.

A car with four young people looking for a friend's home went up the wrong driveway, and the homeowner came out and fired two shots--one killed a young woman in the car. The shooter (older guy) and the victim (young woman) were white in this case. But still... These guys with guns act like they're living out on a remote homestead in the 1800s Wild West.
