According to the family they will be testing his brain for CTE because of the multiple concussions. He had also been seeing a psychiatrist for anxiety and depression issues.

interesting. I had never heard of basketball being that dangerous—how on earth do you get a concussion playing basketball, and if he’s so bad at the sport it keeps happening, why did his parents allow him to keep playing?

He had multiple concussions playing football in middle school. He played basketball in high school and wore a helmet to avoid further injury to his brain. His dad was the coach.

My neighbor was killed by his adult son. The same son he'd tried to help for years. His son's issues didn't present until he was already 18. Do you know how hard it is to get mental health help for someone in need over age 18? Fcking impossible if they are not an immediate threat to themselves or others. He contacted police when he was assaulted by his son, he took out a restraining order, he pleaded with the judge to get his son mental health help... and then a year later he was bashed over the head and fought his son for his life while being strangled to death.
