I totally get parents of younger kids at the school checking or people who might consider switching to the school based on results looking. I honestly just don't understand a random adult's interest.

My kid is at one school and now I'm wondering if we made the right choice.

Things change a lot in 4 years. Admissions process will be different in another 4 years. Schools are experimenting now with test optional admissions, for example. In another 4 years, most schools will have a similar practice. The may be mostly doing internal testing, test optional, etc, but I think the process will be more uniformed.

Predictions for two years out? Will things be that much different than today?

The supreme court is expected to make a ruling on affirmative action this year.

Doesn’t mean much even if they strike down AA. Colleges have already countered that by making admissions even more subjective (ie, nobody requires SATs anymore). Colleges will still get the class demographics they want. I’m all for it.

Episcopals list is one of the worst i’ve seen. All safeties for the most part.

Holton does have a good list. Seems better than previous years.
Lot of athletic recruits but I appreciate how they post it directly on the instagram page. It is helpful for future college applicants to see.
Also, interesting that Holton had good success with Michigan as on other threads parents from NCS/Sidwell/GDS were complaining that private school kids are at a disadvantage with public universities. Holton seems to have figured it out

Yes - good to see these kids are not opting for the traditional top schools and instead are focusing on the Marylands, Northeasterns and Wisconsins of the world. Best bang for the buck

Was School Without Walls posted? Perhaps I missed it

I’m impressed!

The most impressive thing here is that NCS and STA don’t have pages. Good for them.

Why? What are they hiding?

Nothing they just aren’t constantly living on social media. Good for them.

Tell that to NCS. They do have an Instagram page for 2022, but hiding their poor results for 2023!

Ok. It’s just STA then.

Thank you. That is a good list. Impressive kids. I was pleasantly surprised

Dear god so many business majors which is one of the least interesting undergraduate majors for anyone interested in academic learning.

My point was that, despite the number of business majors, there are many excellent schools represented.
I know that Gonzaga has a range of students but clearly they also have some academic superstars. It seems to be a school for all types of students which is a pretty good thing in my opinion

You’ve got a point.

But Business isn’t so bad when it comes to being employable and earning a living.

At my college some used to say we engineers were really attending “trade school” I wonder what those English, History and Fine arts majors think now.

But working in business and getting an mba is not the same as majoring in business as an undergraduate student. That pretty much wipes out any opportunity for serious investment in one’s intellectual learning opportunities. I would not be unhappy if my kid got an mba after studying something of substance in undergrad. But majoring in business is like majoring in marketing or fashion merchandising. No way is that an interesting intellectual experience.

Most people go to college to make a living not “intellectual vitality.” Blame the cost of college in 2023 for that.
