My DC got 96% on IOWA and 550 SOL. Consistent gets 4s on report cards and 100% correct on quizzes/tests in class. With that, I am uncertain, not so much because of algebra next year but down the road. DC seems to want to pursue it, though, so we’re leaning towards doing it.

Your child might still get in. I think if the SOL is close they may evaluate other factors.
Who does the evaluation for the placement - the MS or ES teachers?
