You have no true diversity.



It is a rigorous independent school. Kids with Level 2 autism or downs would not be able to handle the daily requirements academically. Why would you want to put kids into situations they would not be able to handle?


The school chooses to limit the types of programs it offers. Many Catholic schools make room for these students. Publics do.

Don’t claim to be diverse if you choose not to be.

No- do not go to a k-8 if you can go to Janney. You'll be mad ya did. Then you have to apply and hope you can get into a private high school.


Financially, as far as the private school going goes, this is the winning strategy if you are willing to take the risk of not getting in: several superb schools in DCPS will see your kid through K-5, and then you jump.

Agreed. The 50K my child's private cost is worth it to me to avoid the 3 plus fights per week about him not receiving his IEP accommodations. It literally drained the life out of me, even with an advocate


Or the attention and validation my shy DD got that helped her become a leader in her class. She is now happy and confident thanks to those teacher that paid attention and worked with her. She was in public before and honestly it was night and day.
But I am sure public school is fine for most kids. I just wanted more then fine and could afford it.
