Private school applicant here. Got in GE and humanities. Wait pool for SMCS. Also in at RMIB.

What are the good grades. My all a student with high map was waitlisted.
It sounds like CAP doesn't have a high regard for the Eastern program, going outside to private school students instead.
On the contrary, CAP always contains a large group of students who attended Eastern’s magnet program. But CAP is not, nor should it be, Eastern 2.0. The administrators have been making an effort to diversify the program in many ways, and this includes drawing students from middle schools throughout Montgomery County. Certainly a lot of accepted students will be from Eastern, but there’s no guarantee that attending the middle school magnet gives you entrance into CAP. Which is a good thing.
Just a clarification that CAP only draws from students attending DCC middle schools (or who live in that catchment area but were at private middle schools).

We are new to the county and applied because we thought it had a great reputation - can you give a little detail please?
It does have a great reputation. Ignore that poster.
Blair envy and sour grapes are very common maladies here.
Looking at the program it does not have enough computer science and the math track is not impressive post calculus. I’ve heard a lot of issues with several teachers. I don’t like the extra class and lack of elective choices.
