And most importantly, when are we as a society going to believe the right to live is more important than gun rights?!
If Sandy Hook didn’t spur a rethinking of guns in this country, nothing will.
Your pessimism is nihilistic and useless.
Yes, parents are now being charged. In Michigan, the parents were charged. Here, this seems a clear case to charge the parent.
Ok, that still doesn’t change anything. Do you think a wounded teacher will move the needle when classrooms full of dead kids didn’t?
Yes.
It’s already dropped off of the national radar. What change do you think this will spur that Ulvade didn’t?
Uvalde brought a bipartisan gun legislation that restricted gun sales, increased background checks, new criminal offenses, etc. It was not the assault weapons ban that we wanted to see but it's the first gun legislation in 3 decades. The chaos in the House does not bode well for a new assault weapons ban - but it doesn't bode ill either.
Nothing passed after Uvalde would have prevented Uvalde

np here. Congress didn’t even act after a fellow congresswoman was shot in the head. I have no hope for change.
