The cards are staged and depict life as perfect and feel like an extension of social media. We are already exposed to people's family photos regularly through social media. I also find cards to be insensitive as many people who are single, widowed, divorced, childless, estranged from their family and children, lonely and grieving recent losses find them to be hurtful and actually make Christmas more painful than it already is. If a single person sent out a photo Christmas card it would be seen as bizarre and self-absorbed (which it is). Please stop sending these cards. It is time for the tradition of the family photo Christmas card to end.
Christmas is a about love. Try it sometime.
Mockig single people for being single is disgusting.

I've gotten photo cards from single friends and don't find it odd or distasteful. Often travel pix. Goes on my mantle with everything else.
The holidays are hard for ppl going thru rough times. This is a piece of mail you can toss. No need to take it personally
I don't post my kids on social media and many of my friends have declined social media over time as well.
When I was single I sent out pictures of my dog in Christmas attire and people reached out to me to tell me how much they loved it.

Unfortunately, it’s not just a British behavior. It’s become trendy and ‘progressive’ to dump on American traditions and cultures. I’m a child of two immigrants and have noticed this shift over the past decade or so. Especially in this board - any chance to disparage American traditions is welcomed and celebrated.
Personally, I love the cards. Photo cards, letters, regular cards. I display them for a few weeks and my kids love them. FWIW, I’m not even Christian.
