I hope so. If this is trending for rich kids now then it will soon trend in the middle and lower classes too. While wealthy single moms can offset obstacles to child rearing alone, it's been a disaster for the poor.

Got married at 22, husband was 24 and in law school. Had our first at 29 while in medical training. It seems that more women in medicine are opting to marry young and have kids during training and not wait until late 40s like doctors in the past did. Part of it is that it’s more acceptable for men to be default parents. My husband works from home and does most of the childcare. I’ve noticed other doctors in training are married to phds and computer science ppl who work from home and also have good incomes.

TT and NM both met their future husbands before or just after their 21st birthdays and got married around their 25th birthday.

Agree, it gets harder to meet anyone. And getting married young and have kids early is a bonus! I had my first child at the age of 39 and now I have regrets, because my child could be in college by now if decided to have kids sooner.

Actually, a lot of young couples are cohabiting in the same apartment due to cost of living concerns. That just causes additional issues as you can read about in the length of time of relationship before marriage thread.

Shacking up (in a rental) is for man children and pushover women. Make him marry you or move on before he wastes years of your prime and fertility.
