I am having trouble finishing this mostly because the Steven character's slouch and chin down eyes rolled up evil face are getting to be way too much.

The PROFESSORS my god. And Lucy getting expelled. It all just sucked.

You have to remember that Bree thinks Lucy lied about being SA. She thinks the tape is true and she has NO clue she was lying for Pippa's sake at the time she sent the tape out. She also has just been through a succession of betrayals: Marianne, the school, her mom not believing her about Oliver being a predator, Evan sleeping with Lucy, Wrigley sleeping with Pippa. So the tape reveal does not happen in a vacuum or just to get revenge against Lucy.

Eh, Lucy told the girls that Steven was blackmailing her and holding a tape over her head, but that he gave her the tape and it was ok now. Even if Bree watched it and even if Bree felt betrayed about Lucy and Evan, she knows Steven well and it should’ve at least crossed her mind that Lucy‘s only doing this recording in someway because of something Steven did. Meaning, I think it’s more likely than not that Bree, who watched Stephen go after people, including her in her camera, and watched her destroy Lucy time again, would think there’s a reason Lucy recorded this and Steven was holding it over her head other than just a simple as Lucy decided to do this record recording, and Steven had it.

I totally agree. This just seemed out of character for bree even with all the trauma and I didn’t like it. They were best friends and the only reason that Lucy made the damn tape was to protect Bree because she didn’t want her finding out about Evan cheating. Which yes had oarly selfish motives because it would’ve broken up their friendship, but also, I truly think she was trying to protect Bree. so yeah it doesn’t endear me to Bree and it annoys me that they kind of ruined her character for me.

It also wasn’t clear how she knew where the video was? So she snooped around in Lucy’s room and found a little device and played it and then decided to release it? I don’t know it just didn’t really add up and felt like it was too much of a stretch for me. But otherwise I do love the show.
