wow you're really slim. 140 probably the right weight for you.

well my legs are skinny and they have always been skinny, it's my middle that's an issue and I've still got a grabbable pooch.

It's hard to say what is the right weight for a certain height. So many factors. I have a similar body type (I think it's an apple) where I have thin legs and no hips/butt and all my weight goes to my middle/upper body. It's not a shape that does well with extra weight. I'm currently 5'8" 153 and I have a gut.

Yes! We are "apples" and prone to heart disease too, if we let that apple shape get too big. Ug.

Anonymous wrote:PP who is 5'7" and went to 147 - that is a great weight, and even 167 was not bad at all, so why is your goal now 135?So that you have some wiggle room? I am 5'8" and was super slim before we moved to US and now I am trying to desperately get back to my good old 165, from 185pds...When I hear that people think the proper number is 147pds for roughly my height, I am so discouraged since it was basically my high school weight. Unless you are a much younger person? Anyway, congrats to you all ladies and guys moving to your goals....

I'm also 5'8" (and a half!). I'm 54 and currently weight 137. I'm trying to get down to 130, which is about what I weighed at college. I have a very slight build, so any excess weight looks awful on me. At 165 lb I would look huge (not saying that you do, of course). So, there is no proper number for your height.

I am 5 feet 4.5" I weighed about 182 last summer and I now weight 150!! My original goal was 145. Now, I believe I should aim for 138ish. I will see how I look and feel.

I am eating carefully and strength training and cycling.

I feel good - I need the exercise as have challenges in the family so otherwise might get depressed!

Hey sister! I'll be 53 in April. I'm also 5 ' 4" 1/2 - I always thought I was 5' 4" but maybe I've grown

I weighed 185 in 2020. I've lost 30 lbs and kept it off for a year. I'm still in the 150's. I think the 130's is my goal. I still have a lot of "extras" - drinks, fun food etc.

Trying to get to the next step. I'm focusing on HIIT, heavy weights, plyometrics this year and also focused on eating for exercise prep and recovery. Good luck to all of us

I've lost over 95 pounds in the last ~18 months and have about another 6 to go to get to my goal weight of 155 lbs (I'm 5 7). Have been up and down over the same two pounds over the holidays and some travel from the last few weeks, and while I was considering trying to go even lower I think I'll be ready for maintenance once I get to 155, which is my college weight.

I really hope I can push through and make it to through these last 6 pounds! It was such a big goal and I'm so close! But the ups and downs (ha) of the last month made progress slower and harder -- gotta finish strong though! Good luck everyone!

Wow! Excellent work! You can do it!

Would like to get stronger, cardio fit and drop 10 lbs
Daily walking - try to get back into running
Strength training - probably start body weight at home.
Like the macro concept - more veggies, protein and 35g carbs (if I’m reading carbs part correctly)
Reduce alcohol and sweets

PP, I'm 5'4" and also trying to lose 10lbs. I'm doing everything you are and have lost 3 lbs since Dec. I highly, highly recommend strength training. Check out Live Yourself Young on youtube. She is focused on women over 50 who are just starting. She goes very slow. You can start with 5lbs weights. I noticed that by upping my protein (to build muscle) I wasn't hungry for carbs. Dry Jan has helped. I do allow myself a Lindt truffle every once in a while. They will soon be gone! Everything you are doing is correct

That makes you strong and healthy, it doesn't make you thin.

What is the point you are trying to make with this comment? OP was sharing the habits she has developed over her weight loss journey. Are you saying that the extra roughly 2500 calories burned per week (and resultant effect on overall metabolism) is not a relevant or contributing factor?

Pretty much, yeah.

Well done NP!!!! OP here and I’m almost 54…keep up the good work!

So inspiring! I’m 58, 5’4”. Weigh 157 and while I’d like to lose 10, am focused on strength training and building muscle. It’s been 2 months and I’m just starting to notice changes but feeling stronger and healthier.

Excellent
