We need a ban on any firearm that is not a hunting rifle (with hunting permit).


We need to enforce the ban, and aggressively collect these firearms.

I lived at the Ava years ago (it was the Consulate then). On 6th floor facing south we had the view of the entire city. The building is at he top of a hill so I am not surprised that if somebody could shoot from a high floor the bullet could get to Cleveland park. I guess he must have had a Powerful rifle

I meant to say the video isn't graphic, just audio of the incident taken from a nearby window.

You have the wrong area. It was Kennedy and 7th; this is near my neighborhood, there is a too much gun violence in our area.

There were two other shootings this afternoon - one at 6th & Kennedy and one on Blair Road near the Takoma Metro station.


Actually 3 - there was on Maple Ave in Takoma Park as well.

I work in an inpatient psych facility. We “treat” our patients, discharge them, and readmit many of them a few months/a year later. They don’t stay on their meds and end up right back where they started. We have a very high forensic population (committed crimes, awaiting trial, etc) so plenty of violent patients. Getting them treatment isn’t always the answer. Many times they do belong in jail.


No, they belong in locked psychiatric wards of state hospitals. Unfortunately Reagan pushed for deinstitutionalisation and as a result, we have crazy people running amok, killing innocents.

Curious that there has been no mention of the Whittle School in all the coverage of schools on lockdown, etc. Isn't it right at Connecticut and Van Ness?
