Also, my kid's 5th grade class had an outbreak (I think about 10 cases among the 4 classes) right before spring break.
I think a lot of people who were very careful about distancing and mask wearing through omicron are now "done" and getting this latest variant.
My family of 4 has still only had one of us with a positive case (omicron) and none of the rest of us got it.
Once I caught Omicron and it was nothing, I regret every single post-vaccine precaution that I took (and I was as cautious as my work would allow).

Any info on initial symptoms? I have felt like I had sinus infection over weekend and hot today but no fever. Home test negative.

For my dh and dc1, it started with chills. Dc2 started with a sore throat. They had fevers within 12-24 hours from first symptoms.
Do you know how high the fevers were? I tend to run cool like 97.4 so I am hot but I'm only at 98.8.

Fairfax county April 1, 7 day average: 104.
Yesterday it was 127.

I think lots of people won’t test or will take a test at home. From reaching out/talking to other people, it seems like there is an uptick. The disappointing/scary thing is that some of these people who are testing positive now, had Omicron in January or Delta in the fall. I was hoping that at least when it got me (I’m tripled vac btw), I would be immune for a while.
Do you mind sharing what your next steps are? Did you just check into a hotel? Did you go ahead and arrange a new flight home? Did the airlines work with you or did you lose the money for your return flight?
