This is not “banter”. Banter is witty and quick…this was just lazy and rude.

This is why a certain kind of older man wants younger women. Older women are secure enough in themselves to not feel the need to pretend nothing bothers them, and call people out as needed. Many younger women have a harder time with that, so men can say offensive things and get away with it.

I think she just regrets dating a guy who would mention National Inquirer/Star in conversation.

I don’t even get why she got offended. TMZ is usually the first to report on things like celebrity news and deaths. And have you seen the actual news networks lately? It’s mainly gossip and propaganda too. Even CNN and Faux News have been talking about nonsensical Will Smith/Chris Rock all week. These days, National Enquirer is on par with Faux News and MSNBC.

My new-ish (6 months) boyfriend asked me what I was up to, I said I was catching up on the news, and asked where I go for news. I happily shared that I have set up an aggregate to get a broad sweep of perspectives. He only watches CNN. It was a nice conversation.

If a man threw a comment like that at me, I’d also take it as a personal jab. Believe it or not, women can be intellectual and also enjoy relaxing with some celebrity gossip.

It’s sarcasm. If she can’t have friendly banter back, then he should find a woman who will joke back with him, stupid joke or not. But not whine and demand an apology like her shit don’t stank.

It’s about compatibility. They just aren’t compatible. It seems like she wants a serious guy, nothing wrong with that. But these two seem incompatible.

He just said she does usually give it back to me and has a sense of humor. He just happened to be d!ck that day.
