We were great friends for a few years before we got together and we continue to be great friends 32 years later. Very helpful is that she was/is beautiful, super smart, fun, an amazing mother and still great in bed. I do believe that our great friendship early on has been the foundation of our relationship.

I chose my wife in particular because she was strong in areas I was not and knew I would have to really grow as a person in order to make it work, and I think I have.

People like you suck, though. All people age. We all end up shriveled old people. Looks eventually fade. I'm reasonably attractive etc. in my 50s but nowhere near what I was in my 20s and 30s, having had BC, now menopausal, etc. And it would not be reasonable to expect me to be the same.


I would want to marry a person who is going to be good to look at for many years. Luckily I chose wisely.

What are you doing so the women in your life are "harpy" and "continually grouchy and whining about everything"? This is abnormal behavior and is likely a "you" problem. Part of it could be how you express yourself.

Um for a week out of the month, male partners can be guaranteed that they need to “tread lightly”. I know it’s not right to say that, but it’s so true. Just rude and scathing behavior has to seemingly be forgiven when women are on their periods. You know that’s a fact. Men are more emotionally consistent.

Honestly this thread makes me absolutely sad for my DD and the men out there on the dating scene. If this is representative of men as a whole now, it’s beyond scary and sad.

You all have completely unrealistic expectations and seemingly give no thought to a MUTUAL partner.

You all also seem to not be self-aware as to your own flaws. I’m sure a “what women want” thread would be quite illuminating to you.
