+1. Agree.

+1. Used to work there

How was it like working under Kim Williams? She’s been there for a long time. I have not seen a principal at the same school for over 20 years!

Quite a feat. We had 2 children go through SMES and it's been a positive experience both times.

Another vote for Ritchie Park! We just started and love the communication he provides and visibility!

+1. He's been there since the school was built and personally has hired every staff member. Rumor is higher ups want him for a higher position within the county but he's committed to the school.

So good to know! We are thinking of moving to the district and had heard good things about Flora Singer generally. A good friend isn't loving Oakland Terrace, which surprises me.

Another vote for Flora Singer! The principal is fantastic.

Good luck OP. There are some horrible principals.

She only has one year under her belt but we love the principal at Harriet Tubman E.S.

Yes! I worked with Patrick Scott at another school, and he was great with both teachers and parents. His enthusiasm and compassion are not an act, it's legitimately how he is.

+2 he is great

Good is in the eye of the beholder. If you get what you want, you think the principal is good. If you don't get what you want, you think the principal is not good. And yes there are a finite amount of resources be it time, resources, or curriculum.

Such a breath of fresh air over the last principal! She seems engaged and communicative.

Interesting survey. We are at Woodlin and happy as parents with our teachers and principal. But there are challenges with being in a temp building. Pre covid surveys were good (same principal). Post covid and temp space its reading as pretty bad but only 22 people responded instead of 40-50. And clearly those who have grievances. I looked at tenure of teachers and many have been there a long time so clearly something is working.
