So many low IQ people on this thread, including, apparently, the OP who can't figure out what should be a no-brainer:

1. Husband is immunocompromised.
2. Small child was very ill.
3. Sister is a stupid, selfish hypocritical piece of shit who can't be arsed to give a crap about anyone else by OP's own admission. Wanted extended family (nephew plus his vaxxed parents) to go to lengths not to expose her and her family to covid at Xmas but can't be arsed to do the one thing that
would make her and her family less of a lethal threat to anyone else?
4. Outdoor transmission is almost non-existent.
5. If OP is vaxxed, boosted and wears an N-95 the whole time when she goes alone to visit her sister, the chances of her catching covid are very low.

Obviously, since I have to spell it out, the answer is to prioritize your husband and child by not seeing your sister and her family. . .and to get some therapy pronto in order to examine why you feel so loyal to someone whose own actions and attitudes make her unworthy of your time, energy and affections.

I will never get over the fact that, after literally a MILLION Americans have died from this, there are still loud ignoramuses proclaiming that it is nothing more than a sniffle.

The majority of people who died were elderly. A healthy three year old is more likely to die in a car accident than covid.

If your family is being very careful elsewhere in your life, the LEAST your sister and her family can do is to wear quality mask around your family and if they won't even do that...that's in their court. I would go so far as to buy the masks myself and make sure you are only in situations where risk is low and masked.
