In PA, Washington & Jefferson College (est. 1787, with phenomenal placement for its pre-med and pre-law programs) and Allegheny College. Both SLACs, but with strong alumni networks of leaders in law, medicine, and in the corporate world.

Native Omahan here. I agree and I totally forgot about Creighton -- a situation that meets the criteria of this thread subject.

I think Creighton should be on anyone's list if they're also interested in Marquette, any of the Loyolas (Md., Chicago, L.A.) or other Jesuit schools. I also think it should be on the list of ppl who are open to a vibrant, typical Midwest city and who are thinking of a career in health care.

Denison ranks in the top 5% for diversity, actually.

I had my child apply to Furman as a safety, and we were both surprised how much it had to offer. She got in to many of her reaches, so Furman fell off the list, but we both really liked it! Great pre med options!
