No...it is about manners and financial security. Women want to settle down with a man that can is financially secure and generous. Women give to birth to children. Women inevitably have to take a lot of extra time off work. In the US, women may or not get paid while on maternity leave. Is your spouse going to be able to afford for you to take an unpaid 6+ weeks off work for each child? Any woman that wants children is smart to weed out the men that couldn't support her to stay home *if she needed to. When having children you never know what kind of needs they will have or that you may potentially have after child birth.
