Tax hikes are coming regardless. OECD agreement to hike minimum mandatory corporate tax rate for large business to 15% and to have more consistent rules on how corporations registered in other countries are taxed for onshore and offshore revenue. 136 nations agreed to put it in place by 2023.

Looks like a deal is within reach. It won't be what was proposed and Manchin is killing the Climate Change components while Sinema is killing the prescription drug pieces, but even still, it will be good news.

If you want to make claims to 1776 then you need to understand that the Senate is not, and was never, meant to be reflective of population numbers (that's the house). It was to balance the states and prevent a numerical majority from always triumphing over the minority. The FF were very concerned about the tyranny of the majority (as well as the minority). So far it's done the job quite well.
Yeah. The Midwest has always had two dustbunnies and a horse to rub together. The Founders knew that and they saw the dichotomy up close when comparing population rates in territories like Kentucky versus Massachusetts.
Pretty sure the founding fathers didn't intend for billionaires to step in and take advantage of less populous states and hijack them. But that's what's happened. This needs to be fixed.
Pretty sure they didn't give a lick as long as the laws were obeyed. They believed in private property rights. You didn't work, you didn't eat.
So hilariously funny because there were hundreds of thousands of people mostly slaves and really low paid immigrants who did a hell of a lot of work and still barely got to eat.
As PP said, they believed in property rights not the rights of property, duh.
It should be noted that the founding fathers had a diversity of opinion on all these issues.
