Being against masking kids is not a "right wing view", unless you consider the WHO, the EU equivalent of the CDC and the entire countries of Scandinavia the UK right wing.

Heaven forbid someone have a view other than the APS/ACDC-party line!

APE's FB page is an Internet posting board that is an alternative to AEM (where those with views that don't fall in line with APS are allowed instead of being shamed and bullied like on AEM).

Example of a view posted on AEM that should not be “shamed”?

That isn't what the CDC says.

Great, now we have a group of pushy parents lobbying APS to ignore CDC, the actual health experts.

Brings me back to their science! data! yard signs from last year.

It was all so irrational and the opposite of science/data.

I hope they aren’t pushing against screening. Have yet to hear about that…

None of the APEs are signing their kids up for screening testing. They are encouraging others not to either, even though the testing will help to keep schools open, which they claimed to want. It's so twisted.

Well neither is bike lady. Is she ape too? And how could ape sign their kids up since according to the DCUM trolls they are all in private.

Yes she’s in APE

Bike lady is definitely not in APE.

Bike lady vocally opposed Miranda in the campaign and departed then.

Your faux concern for the virtual kids is touching.

Why isn't every citizen who cares about equity speaking up against the virtual school? Have you seen the SOL scores? There's nothing worse for equity than virtual school. It's why most schools in the area decided not to do one as well as entire states.

And that was assuming it was actually functional. APS' is a dumpster fire. But don't worry - middle school will have their math teacher in...October!

APS' program is full of healthy kids who need to be back in school. Fairfax only has 0.2% of its kids in virtual, which are med-only. APS' is 2.6%.

This is so funny.

So you know better than their parents what they need?

And your version of equity is to take this away from them - more for the rich white APE kids!

I would say having a math teacher the first month of school is needed. It's s no-brainer, actually.

Remote instruction is no substitute for school (see SOL scores). Schools are safe, and kids need to be in them.

You see 2 huge liberals with that policy - New Jersey Phil Murphy and NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio. Glad to see Bill de Blasio not back down, even with whining of a tiny, vocal group of media-savvy NYC parents (very reminiscent of Smart Restart and OneAPS).

Yes we are very familiar with your talking points and tired attacks.

You also never said what your position is on masks, APE.

That's ok, we know you oppose masks, screen testing and quarantines. And are pro spreading Covid.

No kids in APS? That would be our County Board, School Board (waiting on confirmation David Priddy sent his kids to private school this year) and Arlington Dems (if you go to their events, it's a few people in their 20s and a bunch of people 60+) - pretty much all of the political decision makers for APS.

+100, wish more people realized this!

Are you new to Arlington? DP and MOG have kids in APS, BK and RG did. CD has kids in school and LG has grandkids. Add the Commonwealth's Attorney, Clerk of Court, Treasurer, and several state delegates.

NP and I think the SB should have kids enrolled…otherwise they are just using the position as a stepping stone to a bigger office. I’ll admit that when it comes to Arlington Dems, I’m very jaded. I’m a feminist socialist so they don’t really care about my vote. They know I’m not going to vote for a republican so they just keep endorsing these neoliberal cogs.

Supposedly at least 1 of David Priddy's kids are going to private school this year too. Waiting on confirmation on that. So for County Board 1 of 5 currently have kids, SB 2 of 5 currently have kids (but possibly only 1 of 5). According to this person's argument, you must have kids at APS this very moment.

Which state representatives have kids currently in APS?

Clerk of the Court's kids are grown. What about the others you list?

This is all sour grapes by last year's "closed school advocates" because of the fact that 80%+ of students are NOT doing the testing. If this was a national presidential election, it would be the largest landslide of all time. Newsflash - parents don't want their kids getting asymptomatically tested.

I'm betting that many of the parents don't want to risk their kids missing anymore school after last year (ES kids missed 168 out of 180 days) because of a false positive or an asymptomatic case. The closed school advocates only have themselves to blame.

APE must be already incredibly powerful if they can get parents of 80%+ of students to do something without even taking a public position on it.
