We have done camp with Lala and happy to answer questions if it looks interesting to you. I know they pick up from LAMB but also offered to pick up from our kids' school in Ward 4.
We just started LAMB and have been pretty impressed with the aftercare as described- they have a schedule with things like art and yoga and recess. However, I have no real way of knowing what it looks like, as we can't go in the building and my kid (PK3) is not a reliable source.
Do you have any sense of why people at LAMB are looking for other options? Just curious as the whole thing (school and aftercare) is basically a mystery to us right now
There have always been LAMB students at Lala’s, I assume because they’re both Spanish immersion Montessori. I’m not sure why families choose Lala’s over LAMB aftercare though. My daughter is in 1st grade and has had great experiences in LAMB aftercare and at Lala’s for in service days and summer camp.

Mine makes solid friends from different classes and grades during those hours, and got to see friends she had from outside activities like Girl Scouts. We stuck with “good enough” school based aftercare over something pull out like Casa Lala for that reason. Just food for thought.
In normal times yes. But, I think many/most are cohorting aftercare these days. Makes total sense but makes it much harder to provide fun active activities and allow kids to see anyone outside their class.

Anonymous wrote:What’s the cost of Lala for the after school pick up? We live on 7th and Rittenhouse and would consider us the price different isn’t much greater than what we pay now.

They just have the kids sitting in desks watching TV. Honestly, pretty much any sort of activity would be better, but outdoor play, crafts, etc, would be icing on the cake.

No.
¿Por qué no?
Porque es bilingue!
And, lots of English speaking parents and kids![]()
My kids liked camp! Can't speak to aftercare but camp was super loving, super activity filled, sometimes/often a bit nutty and not always hyper organized. I would say definitely best for families with interest in Spanish but call them and discuss!
Great, thanks again for the suggestion. We speak spanish at home so this could be a good fit. Really appreciate you taking the time to respond.
